Post-surgery lymphatic drainage in Seville
Your surgeon does the surgery. The recovery happens here — in the city centre, with clinical judgement and without rushing.
After liposuction, an abdominoplasty or body contouring surgery, the result you see six months later depends largely on what happens in the first six weeks. Swelling, retained fluid and fibrosis are not a passing nuisance: they shape the final outcome.
Post-surgical lymphatic drainage is the part of that recovery you can actively support. It does not speed up healing on its own and it never replaces your surgeon's instructions, but it helps move accumulated fluid, manage swelling and spot early anything your surgeon should look at.
We are at Calle Méndez Núñez 12, a step from Plaza Nueva — the centre of Seville, which matters when you have to come two or three times a week for a month.
We don't operate, which is exactly why we can be your recovery centre
In Seville, almost everyone offering post-surgical recovery also performs surgery. That works well for their own patients and badly for everyone else, because no surgeon sends a patient to another surgeon's practice.
Montecarlo International Clinic does not do surgery. We are not competing with whoever operated on you: we work from their report, their timings and their instructions. If your surgeon wants to speak to our team, they can.
How we work
Every session starts by looking: how the area is doing, how it has changed since the last visit and whether anything needs your surgeon's attention. From there we combine the techniques that suit this stage of recovery.
- Manual lymphatic drainage, the core of treatment in the early weeks.
- Pressotherapy as a complement where indicated.
- Musculoskeletal ultrasound to assess fluid build-up and areas of fibrosis.
- Manual work on fibrosis and adhesions once the stage allows it.
- Guidance for home: posture, rest, compression garment, movement and what to watch for.
When to start, and how many sessions
There is no single answer, and be wary of anyone who gives you one over the phone without knowing your case. Your surgeon decides when to start, and it depends on the procedure, its extent and how healing is going.
As an order of magnitude, body contouring surgery usually means frequent sessions in the first weeks, spacing out afterwards. What you can expect from us is that the plan gets reviewed as you respond — not a fixed package sold to you on day one.
This is not a spa massage
They share a name and little else. A wellness lymphatic drainage and a post-surgical one differ in pressure, in the areas worked, in progression, in what must be avoided and, above all, in what you need to know how to look for.
Here it is done by physiotherapists, in a healthcare centre, with clinical records and the ability to refer you back to your surgeon the day something isn't progressing as it should.
If you are a surgeon looking for somewhere to refer
We work with plastic surgery teams in Seville who prefer their patients to recover at a centre that does not compete with them. We follow your protocol, report back on progress, and do not make calls that are yours to make.
If you would like to meet the team and see the clinic before referring anyone, write to us and we will arrange it.
Frequently asked questions
When can I start after surgery?
Your surgeon decides. Bring their report or instructions to the first session: that determines when we begin, how intensively and what to avoid. If you don't have it in writing, we ask for it before doing anything.
How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the procedure and on how you progress. We set out a plan at the first assessment and review it as we go; we don't commit you to a number of sessions before seeing you.
Does it hurt?
Manual lymphatic drainage uses light pressure and should not hurt. There can be discomfort around operated areas and during later work on fibrosis, which is deeper. We adjust it with you during the session.
Do I need to have been operated on by a particular clinic?
No. We see patients operated on anywhere in Seville or elsewhere. We only need the instructions from whoever performed the surgery.
Do you speak English?
Yes. The clinic works in Spanish and English, and you can be seen and given your written guidance in English.
Where exactly are you?
Calle Méndez Núñez 12, 41001 Seville, between Plaza Nueva and Sierpes, in the old town.
